Language Disorders

A child with a language disorder may present with the following:

  • Delayed acquisition of language (late talker)

  • Difficulty to express needs or understand what others say

  • May have limited vocabulary and produce short utterances

  • May respond incorrectly to instructions

  • May have difficulty with social communication

 

In addition to the above, adult language disorders also include:

  • Expressive Aphasia

  • Receptive Aphasia

  • Global Aphasia
