Dr. Liane Schwab, Au. SLP-M.A. is the owner and founder of Holistic Speech Therapy - her second private speech therapy practice. Together with her private practice, she works as a speech, language pathologist part time, at Lake Highland Preparatory School.

 

She is licensed in Speech Pathology as well as Audiology in the State of Florida. She has over 15 years of experience in Speech Pathology and Audiology. She has worked locally, for Orange County Public Schools, and internationally, including, England and South Africa. She is originally from South Africa, where she obtained her BA in Speech Pathology and Audiology with honors from the University of the Witwatersrand. At the University of Witwatersrand she majored in pediatric communication disorders and adult neurology, with a minor in psychology. While living in England and working for the National Health System of the UK, she specialized in adult and pediatric communication and the diagnostic & fitting of hearing aids of all ages. Upon returning to South Africa to further her advanced education, she received her Masters in Speech Pathology and Audiology from The University of the Witswatersrand. Concurrent with her studies, she opened her first speech therapy and audiology practice in Johannesburg, South Africa. The practices mission and goal was  specializing in pediatric and adult audiology and speech pathology patients. Once relocated to Orlando, FL for family reasons, she continued her advanced studies at the University of Central Florida. This provided her with the opportunity to learn and study the latest research and techniques.

With her vast professional experience and educational background, she possesses the unique skills and knowledge necessary to work with clients in early intervention, autism, articulation, auditory processing, aphasia, neurological syndromes, sensory integration, feeding disorders, ADHD, ODD, apraxia, reading and writing comprehension,  post stroke patients, voice therapy, stuttering, hearing aid fittings and cochlear implants.
